ABOUT ME

Patricia has lived in Yakima for almost 41 years. She was a Professional Director at the Yakima Family YMCA from 1978-1989. She then graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Psychology from Central Washington University in 1993. 

BIOGRAPHY & CAREER

     Patricia has lived in Yakima for almost 41 years. She worked as a YMCA Professional Director from 1978-1989. In 1993 she graduated from Central Washington University with a Masters Degree in Psychology. She worked as a Mental Health Professional for 23 years, including 12 years private practice in the historic Larson Building, retiring the end of 2014. Additionally she was a Life Skills Instructor at Yakima Community College 2009-2011. Patricia has been married to Harold for 33 years, has 2 adult children, 3 grandsons, and a great grand daughter. 

     Patricia has been a volunteer in every community where she has lived since she was in high school. She holds community service as a high value. Her encouragement to all residents of Yakima is to step up and engage in opportunities to serve. Be a part of positive solutions. 

     

COMMUNITY SERVICE EXPERIENCE

  • City Planning Commission since 2014, currently chair

  • Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce Ambassador since 2011, Ambassador of Year in 2013

  • Yakima Foursquare Church member since 1998, volunteer licensed staff since 2017

  •  Assisting at Church on Rock in Wapato since 2012

  • Downtown Association of Yakima since 2014, currently serving on Design Committee

  • Yakima Pippins serving as host family since 2014 

  • Yakima Schools Foundation 2007-2014 including presidency

  • Other involvements:  Worldcast Ministries 1999-present,  All America City Team, Henry Beauchamp Community Center, Healing Rooms of Yakima, Haven House for Women, YMCA, Memorial Hospital, Yakima Covenant Church 1979-1994.

MY PLEDGE

To Serve,  Honor ,  and  Lead  with integrity and authenticity.   To let common sense  act as a guide to smart budgeting,  greater development of public safety,  and protection of property rights.  To listen to and work in collaboration with community leaders in city departments, businesses, community organizations, faith community, local schools, and our city residents in bringing positive solutions to problem areas, and solid hope for future growth and development.
